Is Guilt the thief of life ??

You did something bad. And now you feel terrible. But the feeling won’t go away. It gnaws at you. Even worse, it makes you feel like you’re a bad person. Feeling and thinking like this leads to many health issues.

But one more important thing is that nobody tells us how to deal with this. But only you have some answers to make you feel better…

Now important question that comes is that why we feel guilt ?

Feeling guilt about something you did that was harmful to someone. Or sometimes it comes as you did something wrong and now thinks that what others will think.

Feeling guilty can affect your body and mind. It closed way for you to experience growth and transformation.

1. Try to leave "should" from your thoughts.

Always thinking that I should have done this or I should do this , you are actually judging yourself. You limit your thoughts to that point. Instead of thinking what should have be done you should think that what you can do now if it in your hand to change the situation or what you can say to challenge these thoughts.

2. Practice positive affirmations.

Guilt affects you physical and mental health. Best way to get its effect away is by practicing positive affirmations. Keeping your affirmations for present helps you stay in the current moment, and using “I am” makes the statement powerful and personal.

It seems to be very low level thing to do but it is the most powerful things. As thoughts become thing. Just one positive affirmation for your own self can bring a lot of changes in you.

3. Express by Writing

Expressing what you feel actually brings out the actual feeling inside you. Writing is the best way of visualizing what’s on your mind and reading it late after make you realize that how far you’ve come along.

4. Apologize to others

Apologizing to others bring some part of guilt away from you that you actually accepted your mistake. It takes a great courage to accept. If some one forgive you of your mistake then there is no need to have guilt for that.

5. Forgive yourself.

If you don’t get forgiveness from others then it is essential to forgive yourself and others in order to release your guilt and decide to not allow it to suffocate you and your future opportunities.

Acceptance of hurt and forgiveness are two different feeling. Forgiveness is all about taking care of yourself so that you can actually live your life and feel the joy of living without being in pressure of guilt or the person who has hurt you.

Forgiveness is allowing yourself to move forward with your life in a positive way. When you don’t forgive yourself, you are not able to forgive others. So, start forgiving yourself and know that just being human means that you have made mistakes and will continue to make mistakes. Mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow.

"Releasing your guilt and finding ways to leave the past behind, learning from your experiences and moving forward in a healing direction can enhance your physical, emotional and spiritual health."
